Microwaves causing cot death? When I first heard, I thought it sounds far fetched, especially since in New Zealand we figure we'd finally discovered our link between re-using bedding and microbes, plus smoking or similar. However, after watching this clip from Barrie Trower, a British physicist and microwave weapons expert of Royal Navy and British Secret Service, talks about the health effects of WiFi and other forms of microwave radiation:
Imagine if you are a 15 year old school girl. All of the 400,000 eggs in your ovaries were with you at birth. They are 10x more susceptible to radiation than all the other cells in your body - to increase genetic variation to speed up evolution.
In the first 100 days, all of your grandchildren's eggs are also forming - which have absolutely no protection yet. We have a natural protection from mutations, but in the embryo and fetus, these cells do not have this protection. 100% at risk from radiation. So you mite give birth to a girl with no genetic defects - however, some of her eggs may already have the defects so it would only show in the grand children. The effect has been documented by vets and doctors in the cold war (when women were deliberately microwaved).
The clip above I found after listening to this low budget powerpoint style lecture:
Now for something completely different
Ionising radiation is quite different to radio waves.
Some cool diagrams of the main isotopes to avoid...
