Tom Atkinson prefers Sleazy Listening
Thought I would make this a more personal message this time, since its been such a while since I did an update. I've been embroiled in some extra recording for my upcoming album, which I've gone quiet on since I want to surpirse some folks when it comes out with its mega-fullness. I've been discovering MIDI and Logic Audio Intruments, mmm.
Recently I wrote my first article for New Zealand Musician mag - an interview with another drummer called Wayne Bell. Recents bands I saw that were great: Trans Am up at the Kings Arms, and Flying Squad up at Khuja last week. Next time I'll try to let you know before the gig happens.
Sleazy Listening - this will be a cool gig this sat. old retro hits from the 70s 80s etc, all put together by Dj Automatic and his friens, up at the Wyndham Bowling Club. My band HMX will be the only live music on the night, we expect to go on around 1am.

Electro Activism time:
Save m2
m2, the midnight to dawn music "channel within a channel" on TV2 will come to an end on Saturday March 8th according to TVNZ.
You really have to wonder what is going on. The Government has stated a commitment to NZ music and have backed it up with a 'voluntary' local music quota for commercial radio. TVNZ is required to "support and promote the talents and creative resources of New Zealanders".
Cancelling m2 is not supporting NZ music! Don't stand for it. TVNZ is our station, it should reflect our needs. We here at amplifier have had it with home decorating programmes.
In the words of Glen Sowry the spokesperson for TV2 "the public will tell us what we want", well let's tell them.
email TV2 at tv2@tvnz.co.nz
